Welcome David

The advice from all is excellent. My main suggestion is that you find a
good weekly bible study. For me Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship was
a real life line when I was at University.

My daughter and her husband are each have a phd, one in Chemistry and
one in BioChemistry. My son in law has done a fair amount of
programming to control complex lab instruments, so some programming
would also be good. Also some parts of both their fields require
considerable math, suggest you find a prof in the field you want to
specialize in and discuss with him your interests and what if any math
they require.

If you have not found them the mailing list achieves can be very useful.
The older ones can be searched with google. Also lots of articles
from Perspectives back editions can be found on the ASA web site.
