It seems that Hegel was a theologian, and since Marx was strongly
influence by Hegel -- one of his students I believe, it seems little
wonder. Over the years I keep reflecting that Marx's writing very
strongly looked like an attempt at Christianity without the Christ.

But I still find it strange that this point had been so carefully "pruned"
from the information handed down to me from on high, even in college
courses. To me at least, this seems a significant aspect in understanding
the historical progression of that particular worldview/ideology and why
its impact was so strong.

I don't think it is so much whether a system leans right or left, it is that
the people in that system really fear God. If anyone really has the word
of God written on their heart (figuratively speaking of course), they can
do God's will in either system. The problem is that greed, lust of the
world with its the trappings of power and influence, and the ability to find
all manner of specious pretext to exploit and abuse out brothers and sisters
in Christ, all conspire to tempt even those who have some fear of the Lord
to sin. How these evils manifest reveals where each view is weak.

Hmm, "religion is the opiate of the people"..... he said.....

by Grace alone we proceed,
