I agree. Most Christians are not CHRISTians, but fall short, but I also noticed Pitts quoted Carol Rosenberg on the Smith character and his behavior (I would like to know the source of that - where did Rosenberg get it) and I also noticed going through his archive he spells God, G-d. That's how orthodox Jews write G-d. Note Pitts' comment on the whiny Christians defending their symbols; Christmas and the rock the 10 commandments are written on. Each of the initiatives to remove those symbols are spurred by Jewish liberal interests. There is a definite liberal pro-Israel (inciting discord between Muslims and Christians is pro-Israel), pro Jewish (G-d) and anti-Christian (removing those symbols) slant here in addition to the Smith character not living up to his claimed Christianity.
Since they arrested the 5 Israeli nationals dancing on the Jersey shore as the WTC fell, I am skeptical of any media piece that shows Christians and Muslims opposed especially coming from a liberal paper, a black journalist who writes God as G-d or a Jewish journalist.

The reason I posted the article was that it provides a very real challenge to us. A verbalized faith means nothing (and worse than nothing) if it is not translated into Christ-like action. We are to be conformed to the image of Christ, and that means living our faith in a way that reflects Christ's life of sacrificial service.
I have seen too much of Christians using their faith only to undergird their already determined agendas. Their faith only justifies their actions, rather than challenging them. It comforts rather than discomfits. I have also seen Christians use the most ungracious, condemning and hurtful language against others (even, and particularly, other Christians). Such actions do nothing for the Kingdom of God. That is the point of the article for me.
