I agree with Keith, and that was the point of the article for me.

There is a fine line between religious fervour, and religious bigotry.

Christ taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute
us. The bizarre thing, as Keith notes, is that we actually make
enemies of our Christian brothers.

The shining example of the second Smith (the woman who made pancakes
for her captor), reminds me of the idea of the Servant King; of Christ
washing the disciples feet.
Christianity should be about serving each other, not dissing each other.

Far too many unkind words are uttered in the debates on this list and
the Creation/Evolution debate in general. Creationists call TE's
"Compromisers", which is unkind, TE's call creationists "dishonest"
or "liars", or "braying jackass" (I seem to remember), which is
equally unkind. How about trying to understand each others fears, for
example? Or acknowledging that we all believe in the Son of God and
are saved (John 3:16)?
