Re: [asa] Miracle healing?

I agree with Mike...I don't think miracles have to be
"equal opportunity" Afterall, even when Jesus Himself
walked on the earth performing miracles, not EVERYONE
experienced them...people still died then, and got
sick then, etc...

Dawkin's choice of words though is interesting:
"condemnation". This assumes that somehow we are
allowed to sit in judgement of a God that has the
power of life and death. He created us--what gives us
the authority (and wisdom!?) to judge whether God's
choices of life and death are wrong or right? It's
true, we praise God for saving life...but the opposite
of praising God' choice is not condemnation of
God...the opposite I think is mourning God's choice. A
mourning that God Himself shares...It was not for
Lazarus that Jesus wept, it was for the families and
friends that Lazarus left behind.

Besides, looking at it from a "God's-eye view"...death
is not a problem...death is not the be all end all
that we see it as (in an earthly/secular sense)...God
is lord over both life and death, and he can just as
easily raise the dead as He can preserve the living.
So for all we know, sparing the 1 and taking the 5,000
are in the best interests of each one of them--in
fact, from the eyes of faith, we know that this is
so--all 5,001 of those people are in His care.
