Based on my visit to the Creation Museum last fall, esp the planetarium
program, agree with this:

Though I haven't read much about the YEC view, I have had a few
discussions
where they suggest these vast distances are legitimate, but the time it
takes light to reach us is less than the 6000 year limit. Light, in this
view, is either faster when afar or was much faster in the past. The
latter
view is the predominant view of these two.

This was an interesting revelation for me: to hear a YEC astronomer (Jason
Lisle http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/bios/j_lisle.asp) admit that
at least some objects are more than 6K LY from earth was not what I had
expected. A new song, if you will. What they won't admit is that this
means they must have been around for more than 6K years.
