Am I correct in saying that the use of radioactivity in oil wells was
developed from radiometric methods? I seem to remember Stephen Moorbath
FRS( the UK equiv of Brent Dalrymple and one of my profs) said that some of
his work was developed in that direction, but I forget details.
David, I agree with your theological concerns and at times we should be more
forthright that YEC ends up as a heresy, even more so as so often us types
are dismissed as scoffers, which is hardly in accord with Jesus's teaching.
Over the years no Christian evolutionist has called me a heretic scoffer or
anything like that, though many have disagreed with me on theological
matters strongly yet with good humour (and vice versa). If a discussion was
broken off we could happily recieve communion together - or from each other.
Or else on later meeting we would greet each other as long lost friends -
which we were. In contrast I have problems with the sick superspirituality
of many leading YECs like Baumgradner and Ham.
