Similarly, organic-rich shale layers tend to have higher radioactivity
than average sedimentary rocks, so if you include an appropriate
detector in your well logging apparatus (as is common practice), you
can detects peaks in radioactivity corresponding to distinct layers
that can be correlated between nearby holes.

The focus on details of radiometric dating are useful, but I think we
also need to warn Baumgardner that he's theologically in peril.
Claiming that acceptance of a global flood is a necessary part of
salvation is rather similar to claiming that circumcision is a
necessary part of salvation. I.e., both are grave heresies, denying
salvation by faith in Christ alone.
