"For example, famous mid-twentieth-century Darwinist Theodosius
Dobzhansky is often fronted as a Christian. Here's the reality. His
convictions had nothing to do with Christianity"
I'm curious as to why Dobzhansky's views are claimed to have nothing
to do with Christianity. What information I had encountered indicated
that his views derived from a Russian Orthodox background, though I
haven't seen any information as to how orthodox his Orthodoxy was.
Of course, if one follows Wells in claiming that the key feature of
Christianity is antievolutionism, then Dobzhansky couldn't be a good
Christian. Paul has some rather negative comments about such
non-Christocentric definitions of Christianity in, e.g., Galatians
1:8-9, not to mention other NT authors.
