How hard are they looking? When I wrote my 1st book, designed for
non-specialists & with the subtitle "A Christian Course in Creation,
Evolution and Salvation," I thought it would be good if a local Christian
bookstore would carry it. They agreed to take a look at it but then
declined to carry it because "we don't believe that people came from apes or
alligators or anything like that." The language might be odd (it was the
first I'd heard of the alligator theory of human origins) but the attitude
is, I'm afraid, not unusual.
