Lets not be so quick to say the pastor and church are teaching lies. I
suspect they
are opposing a Godless theory of origins that see taught in the schools
and to their children.
Michael, I just don't think the theistic evolutionists among us have
been writing to the audience of
the church laity (by and large). So what options do they have when
they look for a theistic alternative
to a teaching that origins occurred without God.

Of course, but see above. And when we call them liars before we know
why they are doing what
they are, can we expect to impact them.

And as I suggested above, some of the responsibility may lie with us in
not
reaching out to the Christian laity and churches and giving them
options
other than a secular laden view of origins.
