Examples of unethical behavior like this may cause some YECs to reevaluate
their stance. I maintain that a good part of what makes YECs so steadfast is
that they are being taught by people they regard as Christian leaders. If the
Christian leaders are caught behaving unethically, that may awaken some of
their adherents. There are other examples of unethical behavior -- such as the
employee of SRI a number of years ago who manipulated SRI's system for
producing reports to get a paper claiming that the speed of light had declined
from an infinite value in Adam's day to its present value published as an SRI
report. It might be a useful exercise to make up a list of all such instances
we know of.
