What I gather from the message

is that may folk do not desire to understand the issue, they just
want to be left alone.

I wonder if this all starts up because parents have to deal with "the
teens". That sweet 8 year old child now turned into a vicious teenage
monster. What happened!?! I recall we say all sorts of things to "win"
that fight with dad and mom about the keys to the car, staying out late,
etc. Anything to get in a good shot. What better dart to throw
than "evolution". Furthermore, that frees us of all blame, because now
it is the school systems fault because they taught us this stuff, not
that we would be sharp enough to figure out that on our own and
especially were it forbidden by our own parents. A banned book!
Those were the only ones I remember from those days.

Yet because we (now the parents) don't find it important to face
our own inadequaces and at minimum (if we cannot sacrifice the
time to understand the issues) at least confess that we don't have
all the answers, what is that actually teaching our children about
true honesty? One of the greatest gift we can give our children
(God willing), is an honest heart.

It takes years of study to make a reasoned decision on what evolution
is and it takes even more years to even begin to grasp what is science.
Have we reached the point where (as a society) we cannot figure out
these things with our for ourselves?
