Recently, I wrote a rather reactionary post on
the subject of Sternberg's publishing an ID article.
Michael wrote in a related reply:

Michael, I can basically agree with you on the way YEC
and ID (and even ourselves) have been asking for this.
The damage that some of YEC and ID folk have done (I
suspect unwittingly) to soil the good name of Christ
and his witness is beyond counting.
But I also have been on the receiving end of abuse of
power more than once, and not always due to religion.
I surmise that power best demonstrates what a man is
made of and most of us are fortunate to never be
know ourselves.
So I claim myself no better, but
those who are granted positions of power have a _duty_
to carry out their function in a Godly manner. A Godly
administrator does not yield to politics, even if it
costs that person their reputation. They should know
who owns them.
It does look like some people fell a little short
on the job there. That _may_ include Sternberg too,
but it also looks like "fair and due proccess" has been
compromised here. Behaving like Pilate may be expedient
and it is what we should expect of the world, but it is not
the narrow way, and administrators who follow that path
should be call to account in any society that hopes to
survive the modern age.
by Grace alone we proceed,
Wayne
