Yes, Esau is not favored. Jacob, "man of the tents" is favored.
Esau is also stupid and disobedient. He trades the patriarchate for a bowl of soup, he marries a Canaanite woman against his parents' wishes and he is a hunter. Later we see that men who live by the sword (so says Jacob now called Israel) are not favored. Simeon and Levi the next two sons of Leah have spades that become weapons of violence. Their father Israel curses them.
