I forgot to make this correction in my first response
to this post, but for what it's worth, as far as I
remember, Jim E. was NEVER YEC. As far as I am aware,
his first introduction here and his first thoughts on
the matter of whether or not Genesis is true (to him
that means true in a modern historical and scientific
sense) was that he was a concordist who had found his
way here from Hugh Ross's Reasons to Believe. I never
heard Jim E say that he was EVER a YEC.

Likewise, unless I am mistaken, I got the impression
from Jim E that his background was Catholic. I am not
aware that YEC has made lots of inroads into
Catholicism, but I may be wrong.

In other words, this is all a nice rant Michael made
against YEC, presumably due to his own unfortunate
experiences at L'Abri, et al., but it has no basis in
reality in relation to Jim E. and the development of
his atheism, which I covered in my previous post.
