GRM I have seen this process so many times. But you are correct that not
all is lost. I recently ran into a guy who told me that after he became an
atheist, he ran into my web site and he has returned to the faith, but he
sure is cynical about things. Maybe I still am also. The trust is gone.
When you see YECs making so many obvious errors and you know you can't trust
them, it makes you wonder if you can trust anything in a Christian
bookstore.

One other thing I have observed with falling YECs. They find it very
difficult to tell their wives that they have changed. I did, a guy I met in
my last month in Aberdeen did, a guy who recently emailed me from Iceland
did. And a few others have mentioned this phenomenon. Even having gone
through it, I wonder why, but it is something I have observed.
