    Vernon -
            You presume far too much. Of course I can speak only for myself but I am _not_
    aware of the complete commitment of all YECs (whether on this list or otherwise) to the
    Word of God. That may be the intention of YECs but in many cases scripture is forced to
    fit preconceptions of what it _should_ say instead of being allowed to speak for itself.
    E.g., the insistence against both internal and external evidence that Gen.1 & 2 must
    form a unified account of a recent 6-day creation reveals a commitment to YEC doctrine
    rather than the Word of God.
