        Some caution is needed with this last statement. It is obvious empirically that
people think & do bad things. That this constitutes sin, in the sense of estragement
from, & offence against, God is something we can say only if we know God's will for
people from revelation.

        I don't know but I suspect it was Chesterton who made the statement. It seems
more consistent with RC than with reformed theology.
