Religion, power and politics is a very intoxicating brew.
Even leaders who pray can lose their vision, and cause great
harm in their folly; rationalizing away even cruelty in the
good name of religion.
The founding fathers learned something in building the land,
they were vividly familiar with the fresh tragedies of history.
And consider how Islam's "church and state" bring freedom
to worship Christ. Freedom has a price, it is called
responsibility. Many people want the first, they forget
the latter.
Only by Grace do we have any hope.
