    David,

I've been having a further think re the numerical matters that divide
    us.

Essentially, what you have done with your telephone number is a bit of
    "numerology" - a way of
representing this number as a an arbitrary sequence of arithmetical
operations of no interest apart from
showing your ingenuity in extracting lots of biblical numbers from it.

By contrast, the 66^2 - 27^2 relation (referred to in my first
submission) relies on one of the simplest and best known theorems that
just about everyone learns in elementary school algebra, i.e. x^2 -
    y^2 = (x+y)(x-y), where, in this case x=66 and y=27.

It is surely important to distinguish "numerology" ( playing around with
arbitrary formulae to make your favourite
numbers add up) from this, which uses a formula that is not arbitrary,
    but a pretty fundamental and
    useful theorem in elementary algebra.

    Regards,

    Vernon
