Thanks Glenn. I love the way you lead into the thoughts I'm having. This
topic actually pertains to my next sermon. Referring back to my post
concerning your bears. If you read my last couple of sentences, I spoke of
original sin. Not that the topic is original. I herein would like to give an
opinion. Original Sin is not things we do that God dislikes, nor a single
act that occurred long ago. It is the on going and future things we do
willingly without regard to God's wishes. When we become aware of what our
actions have done, and are aware that this is not what God wants, then we
must atone for this. Example: We now know that various pollutions are
destroying the ozone layer, but we continue to do it anyway. This is an
original sin. The wars and subsequent murders of Neanderthals are not
necessarily against God unless we know that they did it with premeditation
and for the soul purpose of gaining land, money, etc. If this is done in
self defense and and/or they are not aware of its consequences to the
eco-chain, then this is not wrong. When a lesser species, still around
today, goes on the hunt and kills its prey, this is not a sin, because the
animal is not aware of God's wishes and is therefore not responsible. It is
however a sin when we as the only cognizant species commit the same offense
for personal gain, not diet. Sport hunters would be a good example as well.
I hope my point is well taken and understood. Be gentle on the comments
    Glenn.
    Thanks
    Don P

An interesting report shedding light on topics recently discussed can be
    found at

Apparently, there is evidence of an old 'war wound' in a recent Neanderthal.
This was long before 8500 years ago. BTW the St. Cesaire Neandertals also
made jewellry in the form of Necklaces.
