In view of the fact that all of the books you mentioned were published over a century ago, I would like to add another important work which had its first edition published in 1875.
'Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mary Baker Eddy is the textbook of the Christian Science religion, but it was initially offered as a non-denominational work. The Christian Science church was not organised until several years later. Science and Health presents a radical approach to understanding man, the universe and the nature of reality. It is a scientific work, in that it reveals metaphysical laws which are eternal and are demonstrable in any persons experience. The general effect on the reader of this work is a marked improvement in physical and mental health, and a renewed appreciation of the benefits of applying spirituality and Christianity in our daily lives. Although much of scientific inquiry has dealt with the physical universe, the notion of metaphysics as being important and fundamental to the overall understanding of reality is often given short shrift by those in the scientific community. As scientists who are trying to understand science thr!

h the lens of Christianity, I can not think of a more important contribution to your efforts than this book. Yes, I am a Christian Scientist, but as I have said, Science and Health was originally written as a non-denominational work, and today, many denominations and clergy, as well as people in the health care and wellness fields, and those seriously exploring the mind-body connection, consider this book an invaluable tool in increasing their understanding of the nature of reality.
