angels (was YEC)Chuck,

Aside from special classes of angels (seraphim, cherubim...and these are not described as people [or chubby babies] with wings), there are no wings mentioned. All appearances to humans seem to be wingless and male - or at least male looking. As they do not marry, maybe they have no gender. Other than Billy Graham's book, _Angels_, which has some decent hierarchical lists but not much else of value, I have not read up on the subject very much.
