    Subject: Creation Joke (politically correct?)

At least here in Italy I've never heard the story of Adam "buying" Eve for a
rib, but I've quite often stumbled across an interesting variant, however
I've never been offended by it and I hope nobody will be:

    -----

The Garden of Eden - What you need to know

Once upon a time in the Garden of Eden Eve complained to God she was having
    a problem...

    "What's the problem, Eve?"

"Well, I know you've created and given me this fabulous garden, all these
wonderful animals and even this funny snake, but I'm not really happy..."

    "Why, Eve?"

"God, I'm always alone and I'm really bored of having only apples to eat"

"Well Eve, if you feel so, I have a solution. I'll create a man for you"

    "A Man? What's a man, God?"

"You know Eve, this man will be a slob, with as many defects as you'll be
able to count: he will lie, take string you along and be excessively full of
himself. All things considered, he will give you a lot of trouble. Besides
he'll be bigger and quicker than you, fond of hunting and killing. He won't
be as intelligent as you and when a child he'll be inclined to wrestling and
to kick balls. He won't be smart enough to survive alone and will always
need your help to cope with life.

"It sounds good" Eve said, raising her eyebrows with an ironic glance "There
    must be a trickery somewhere"

"Er... in fact there is a condition to own a man..."

    "What?"

"As I told you he'll be proud, arrogant and with an excessive self-esteem...
Thus you have to let him believe he was the first to be created. Remember,
it will be our small secret, from woman to woman"

    -----

I hope there aren't too many mistakes and that I've been able to keep the
    sense of the story...

    Best wishes
    Stefano Doglio
