    Technically speaking, ID at the biological level says nothing
    about the status of vitalism. Note that Fred Hoyle's mechanism
    of directed panspermia is naturalistic, as would be one in which
    life on Earth was seeded or "tweaked" by visiting extraterrestrials
    (or their super-intelligent black obelisks). One can't comment
    about the mechanisms used by designers that one really hasn't seen
    or detected. With ID, it's best not to count the chickens before
    the hen is hatched which may lay their eggs at a future date as yet
    unspecified.
