Re: Better places than talk.origins to start.

Personally, I would recommend against sending newbies off to the
talk.origins *newsgroup*; it is a free-for-all where less than
knowledgeable folks can take a beating. However the talk.origins
*archive* (http://www.talkorigins.org/) is on the whole
non-combative and of fairly good quality. I consider it among
the top few internet resources for those interested in the
creation/evolution debate.

Some (Art Chadwick, and at least one other) who complained about
the "lack of review" -- it's not clear whether they were talking
about the newsgroup or the archive. As far as the archive
is concerned: (1) I have submitted the FAQs which I wrote (for
example The Age of the Earth [1] and Isochron Dating [2] FAQs)
to numerous experts in several fields -- and several young-Earth
creationists -- for review; and (2) aside from the primary
literature (which is also not the right place to send a newbie)
the lack of *formal* review could be used to criticize *any*
source.

[2] http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/isochron-dating.html

Anyone in this list is welcome to take a crack at the above. I
will make adjustments for any errors which are pointed out. You
can send feedback via the talkorigins.org "feedback" forms or via
E-mail directly to me at "chris@stassen.com".
