Ryan:

I have long thought this. Esp. in the Prophets God just does not show
up as a Dark God, but one who pursues, pleads with, suffers with, warns,
succors. I don't what else people expect Him to do. He is warm,
because He is Close. This is no distant God, passing Judgment. Even
His Wrath is warm and personal. He acts often more like a jilted lover
than a cold Judge. Jesus is all over the OT, the same that went to the
Cross for us.

It was very touching and exposed something I felt like sharing. I would also like to point out that his expounding on God's jealous love in the link I posted yesterday sets such a fitting frame of reference in this.

How many times in my life have I questioned it and misunderstood it. How many times will I still? And, how refreshing it is, when Glenn looks into that same testament and draws out the loving God that delights in our individual lives and shares in the sorrows as well.
