[asa] [ASA] Painting God Black

I was reading a little more of Glenn Miller's personal story this morning and came across the letter he wrote after his daughter died back in 2000. It was very touching and exposed something I felt like sharing. I would also like to point out that his expounding on God's jealous love in the link I posted yesterday sets such a fitting frame of reference in this.

It's easy to look at the Old Testament and see the large-scale violence and suffering brought about in the judgment of a Just God. How many times in my life have I questioned it and misunderstood it. How many times will I still? And, how refreshing it is, when Glenn looks into that same testament and draws out the loving God that delights in our individual lives and shares in the sorrows as well.

It troubles me when people are so quick to paint God black, misunderstand His nature and disregard the intensity and yearing of His love. I thank God that He is Righteous and Just. Thank God that He loves us so intolerably.
