Bravo, Terry!

Thanks for so eloquently summarizing the scientific consensus and
worldview that many of us share. You did much better than I did last
week when I tried to explain Darwinism, etc.

I recognize that our current scientific understanding is always
tentative (new hypotheses are always welcome), but I find it
frustrating to be continually asked to produce the evidence for
evolution, as if that question is still on the table. It's unfortunate
that discussions on this list often degrade into (or boil down to) a
debate about the reality of evolutionary history. We might as well
debate the evidence for a heliocentric "solar" system; afterall, I
have not personally examined the detailed evidence for it. That's why
I prefaced my statements to Cameron about macroevolution with "we'll
just have to agree to disagree".

Thanks for reminding me that I'm not alone in believing that our
knowledge of God's creation through science is sufficiently accurate
to proceed with a coherent life (intellectually, spiritually, etc.).
