There is a relatively high frequency of ID or YEC advocates also
taking non-conventional positions on various other aspects of science
and medicine. Some of the same "journals" publish both
corporate-sponsored "all the chemicals we produce are harmless" or the
equivalent and young-earth models (try a search on "Journal of
Scientific...").

Whether this reflects being in cahoots, a shared goal of creating
confusion about science, willingness to accept stuff published in
association with your own, skepticism about convention science, lack
of scientific judgement, or what is not very clear.
