[asa] Christinaity and the environment

The latest Nature has an interview with David Attenborough (narrator
of many nature films). One of his latest projects is apparently a
series promoting evolution and taking on antievolutionism.
Regrettably, the reason he gives for the importance of evolution is
Lynn White's thesis (not attributed to him) that the Genesis mandate
to subdue and rule the earth entails abusive exploitation. Such
claims do get made in certain Christian circles as well as
anti-Christian ones, but the numerous Christian pro-environment and
non-Christian anti-environment examples should raise serious problems
for the claim.
