I just noted unfortunate double negatives in my reply to Timaeus that of
course reverse my meaning. the last sentence of my 3d paragraph should
read:

If one believes that God was uniquely present in Christ (even without a
developed theology like that of Nicea) then it would be hard to say that in
some important senses Christ was not involved in creation and was not “the
end of the law” (Rom.10:4.)
