Please forgive me Bethany, inadvertently in the post below I misspelled your name! :( Hopefully you will take neither it, nor my comments on the quotations from Denis' book, personally! - Sincerely, Gregory

Dick, I can offer one answer to this question, in two parts: 1) Denis is not a historian and 2) Denis is strongly against YEC (just like the geologists are), i.e. having 'evolved' from that position in his past, so there is no possible way any part of it could be true (even a 'real' 'Adam' and 'Eve') and Dick's booth probably seemed like a YEC-affiliate by the name "Genesis Proclaimed Association."
Unfortunately, as a result Denis didn't read your book, Dick and thus his "Adam never existed" is repeated with confidence, though no more than an unscientific opinion; it is certainly not a scientific conclusion and remains inflexible, exclusivistic and polarizing (at least in the passages quoted above).
Actually no, Brittany, I would not call you a 'feminist' for saying what you said. But then again 'chauvinistic' is not an opposite to 'feminist,' if by 'chauvinistic' one means, as M-W.com writes: "undue partiality or attachment to a group or place to which one belongs or has belonged." - G.A.
p.s. of note: Dick and Denis have interestingly similar profiles (spoken as one whose never met either of them), with degrees in theology and science, and both also served in the military; both men imo deserve careful attention for their contributions to improved understanding in science, theology, and (lest we not forget), philosophy.

Denis may have something substantive to say but this isn’t it. Having myself established a basis to legitimize the historicity of this man we call Adam today that the Akkadians called “Adamu” and who had namesakes for centuries after he lived, I can say with confidence that there is a high degree of likelihood there was just such a man, and I can say without hesitation that Denis is totally out to lunch on this issue. And having nothing to contribute he should simply vocalize the same. On the subject of history, my organization, Genesis Proclaimed Association had a booth at a recent Faculty Commons Leadership conference in Arlington, VA. Denis was there and came up to my booth and introduced himself. My book, Historical Genesis from Adam to Abraham was available at a discount price. He didn’t buy it. So how can he deliberately avoid exposure to the evidence and then make public pronouncements that such evidence doesn’t exist?
Heck, I would have given him the book.
