There is a difference between knowingly spreading falsehoods,
knowingly spreading unverified claims as if they were established
fact, making erroneous claims as a component of self-delusion, and
repeating errors coming from a source that you trusted. However, none
of those activities are permitted under the 9th commandment.

For example, "John Baumgardner, PhD
Topic: Catastrophic Plate Tectonics: A Mechanism for the Flood. "

Surely he knows that his model arbitrarily subtracts out the excess
heat. Representing it as a good model when it actually predicts that
the oceans would have boiled away and the ark would have been cooked
is not honest.

It's simply incompatible with the geologic evidence. Maybe he knows
that, maybe not, but he ought to know that before he claims that the
model provides a good explanation of the geologic evidence.
