I have met many of the leaders at ICR over the years. I have attended
creationist conferences and creation/evolution debates. The last time I
saw Henry (when he was alive) he was autographing Bibles. Those you are
describing are the followers who get innocently caught up in it and lack
the ability or willingness or curiosity to ferret out the truth and
expose the fallacies. They are not speakers at this conference. The
speakers are culpable in my estimation and worthy of scorn. If you
don't think so contact one of them and ask how willing they are to
discuss the errors of their ways. See what reaction you get. Or send
them here and ask for their comments:

See, this is what I am talking about. Most YECists that I know are not
like
this. They are honestly trying to understand Truth. They have a high
regard for scripture, and place their interpretation of it above
anything
else. Most don't do it for personal gain, and most are honestly seeking
truth.
Unfortunately they have a lot of influence, and also unfortunately they
are
wrong. But I don't think that most of them have illicit motives.
