Hi Dave, Burgy,
Ditto for me - we weren't given a choice of subject, though.
I remember doing Australian Politics - a subject which stuck in my mind
for two reasons;
1) For some reason the text made the occasional derogatory reference to
religion, but in quite an ill-informed and "out of context" manner. I
didn't realize that people take seriously the idea that the original sin
was sexual in nature! I have since wondered exactly how the first couple
were to be fruitful and multiply...perhaps asexually?
2) Wondering as to the point of our burgeoning knowledge of the
Australian political system, one fellow student asked the lecturer if
his awareness of the subject caused complications for him at election
time - the assumption being that he would carefully weigh the issues,
the party policies, and the candidates: "Not really," came the reply, "I
just vote the same way each time."
Blessings,
