Probably should have answered your specific question re how to phrase
the question. I personally would have gone NOT for "how do you define
science" but, rather, "which of the following do you consider necessary
aspects of science".
I'm aware, however, that the later might not be feasible if the poll
allows the respondent to make only a single choice. If this is the case
you might try "which of the following is, in your opinion, LEAST
relevant to the practice of science."
