The first time i heard of a Grand Theory of Evolution was by creationists,
encompassing everything from the BB to now. I suppose that term was coined
to give it some air of credibility or status.
In case you'd like to hear it again, in a different dress. Now the term
'Total Evolution' is being used by ASA on its education page. These are not
creationists using such language, but TE/ECs!
Craig Rusbult (Chemistry, History of Science, Curriculm Studies) writes:
"In theistic evolution, usually "evolution" means a Total Evolution of
everything — with astronomical evolution (to form galaxies and solar
systems) and geological evolution (to form the earth's geology) plus
chemical evolution (to form the first life) and biological evolution (for
the development of life) — but it can mean only biological evolution."

'everything' referenced is really only 'everything natural' and not
'everthing else'!
TE and EC are creationists, as well.
