It is an interesting hypothesis. But the same hypothesis could be raised without any appeal to ID.
It would be scientifically invalid to propose that if their hypothesis is true, that this proves the existence, or evidence for a designer. In other words if they show that centrioles function like turbines and produce a vortex, this does not in anyway prove that they were designed for this function.
