The reported finding of remnant protein in T. rex bone was discussed a
little while ago on the list (in the context of young earth misuse of
the claim). The latest Science has a reply to the article, suggesting
that contamination is likely, and a reply by the authors rejecting the
suggestion. Contamination is a serious problem for studies on ancient
biomolecules, and I'm not convinced that the original study did enough
to address the risks.
