To cut to the chase then, the major questions, as I see it are:
What about the asteroid impact about 6000 years ago (I hadn't ever heard
anything about it)? Is he suggesting, as it seems, that it only wiped out
life in the Middle East? Is there any evidence for this conclusion?
And therefore, he seems to be suggesting that other cultures existed around
the world before and after this time, as others on this list have written.
The article thus alludes to, but doesn't deal at all with, the inevitable
conclusion that the "image of God" (whatever it is) is something possessed
by a group of humanity who came into the Middle East around 6000 years ago
and eventually spread through all popluations of the world. Whether true or
not, many Christians are going to have a hard time with this and its
implications.
Is there any evidence in early archaeology of the Middle East for long life
spans of these "new type of humans created in Eden"? How many of them could
there be, as opposed to the "old type" of humans, and how likely is it that
their bones would be discovered, or examined for detectable length of life?
If Satan is ascribed with achieving the vast richness (so-called) of the
many life forms, though "distorted" and carnivorous as claimed in the
article, what does that say about Satan's creative power vs. God's? Is it
good theology to ascribe such creation of species to Satan and not to God?
All in all, I think the message is well intentioned that we should be doing
all we can to fight disease, etc., as well as spreading the "good news" of
Christ. Perhaps this is one of the greatest detriments of the YEC movement,
is it gets young Christian people out of the arena of science where they
could do great good, because they have been taught that science is not to be
trusted in areas its own expertise. And certainly the message of all
Christians being involved in the "war" is worth spreading, even if some of
his conclusions to arrive there may be questionable.

I found the below article fascinating. It was sent to me sans sources so I
am not certain where this originates (book, article etc) and have been
unable to find out who to ask permission from to disseminate. My
understanding from the person who s ent it is that it is free to pass on. I
apologize in advance if wrong.
I agree with it that Genesis describes A beginning and not THE beginning. I
am skeptical of some of its postulations but await the collective and
formidable brainpower on this list to respond first.
