I Can Hear Gomer Pyle's Voice Now...saying to the
Nobel Peace Prize committee - "For shame, for
shame!" in regards of the people passed up for
the Peace Prize, in favor of Al Gore. Following
up on a comment from Shamalama, here are a few of
the 180 people that were deemed not good enough
(they hadn't helped humanity as much as Al Gore):
Irena Sendler - a Polish woman who saved the
lives of some 2,500 Jewish children during WWII;

My mistake. He just said it was a hoax. My

No you were right the first time. He took it for
real (thought the “hoax” was the paper saying
global warming was a hoax) and then went to a
break. When he came back, he said the paper was
the hoax and would not be put up on the website.
(Of course the paper was correct global warming
is a hoax, but everything in the paper was made up).

Of course it's a lie that he "fell for the
scam". I was listening and the fact is that Rush
misunderstood Roy Spencer's email note to him
during the course of his show, and immediately
retracted his on-the-fly comments on it as soon
as he came back from the break. Nevertheless, in
his usually humorous self-deprecating way, he
"punished himself for falling for a hoax" by
suspending himself from his own show Friday .
Jason Lewis of KTLK-FM in Minneapolis sits in for him.

I wonder if the scammers got the idea from this:

  And ---- <Gomer Pyle voice> "Shazam!", "Gol-ly"
and "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" </Gomer Pyle
voice> --- there's nothing more embarrassing than
watching people fall for the the "greatest scam
in history" (while laughing at Rush) because they
actually think that they may safely accept on
faith the pronouncements of the "experts" they
look up to -- as pointed out here:

..Dr. Hendrik Tennekes, former CEO of the
Netherlands' Royal National Meteorological
Institute: "I am of the opinion that most
scientists engaged in the design, development,
and tuning of climate models are in fact software
engineers. They are unlicensed, hence unqualified
to sell their products to society."

QUOTE: "..There are by now a few dozen such
models in the world, but they are not entirely
independent of one another, often sharing common
pieces of computer code and common ancestors." ~ K. Emmanuel MIT

QUOTE: "..The problem here is that many important
processes are much smaller than these
scales. For example, cumulus clouds in the
atmosphere are critical for transferring heat and
water upward and downward, but they are typically
only a few miles across and so cannot be
simulated by the climate models. ... there are
not too many ways to test the model, and
projections of future climates must necessarily
involve a degree of faith. " ~ K. Emmanuel MIT

QUOTE: "... all the fuss about global warming is
grossly exaggerated. Here I am opposing the holy
brotherhood of climate model experts and the
crowd of deluded citizens who believe the numbers
predicted by the computer models.

Of course, they say, I have no degree in
meteorology and I am therefore not qualified to
speak. But I have studied the climate models and
I know what they can do. The models solve the
equations of fluid dynamics, and they do a very
good job of describing the fluid motions of the
atmosphere and the oceans. They do a very poor
job of describing the clouds, the dust, the
chemistry and the biology of fields and farms and forests.

They do not begin to describe the real world that we live in.

The real world is muddy and messy and full of
things that we do not yet understand.

It is much easier for a scientist to sit in an
air-conditioned building and run computer models,
than to put on winter clothes and measure what is
really happening outside in the swamps and the
clouds. That is why the climate model experts end
up believing their own models.".... Freeman

QUOTE: "The data don't matter. We're not basing
our recommendations [for reductions in carbon
dioxide emissions] upon the data. We're basing
them upon the climate models" (Chris Folland, UK Meteorological Office)

for so long it's almost become respectable"
