Just read it the other day on Edge. Very interesting idea about two
branes colliding and bouncing back and forth.

Excellent video.
Dark energy is basically decaying causing the collapse of the two
branes and when they collide, another big bang occurs. Due to ripples
in the branes, it predicts basically the same as the big bang other
than the lack of the gravitational signal which is now being searched
for by the Planck satellite.

The math is pretty dense though.
