Paul Nelson, who is scheduled to speak Thursday night,
during one of the first sessions, and give a talk entitled
"Intelligent Design in Three Easy Steps" has a forthcoming
monograph "On Common Descent", which critically evaluates
the theory of common descent.
I would be curious about what he has to say about these
imperfections in our DNA, (and chimpanzee DNA etc.) If
you go Dick you can quiz him.
