Hi Glenn:

=20

As Ronnie Reagan once said, "There you go again." You explain ad =
nauseum
inconsequential information and ignore completely what is highly =
pertinent.

=20

I have offered up data and evidence that places the entirety of
Genesis =
2-11
within the context of the ANE. Many archaeologists agree, theologians =
don't
because they like you are spellbound with the notion that all humanity
sprang from Adam.

=20

BTW, my publisher asked for a short blurb to introduce the book in trade
publications. This is what I came up with. What do you (anybody) =
think?

=20

Illuminated by the history of the ancient Near East, the beginning =
chapters
of Genesis come alive with characters, places and events almost totally
unknown outside of the Bible itself. Did a man we know as Adam actually
exist? Was a man we call Noah warned by God of a cataclysmic flood and
instructed to build a boat? Was Abraham the father of many nations as =
he
was promised? Can Genesis be regarded as literal history? These are
questions with surprising answers.

=20

When the literature of the ancient Near East began to surface, only a
handful of archaeologists dared to point out that there appeared to be a
close relationship between Genesis and the ruminations of the
Sumerians =
and
Akkadians who once lived in the land between the rivers in southern
Mesopotamia, present-day Iraq, where 3,000 years of biblical history =
takes
place. Unfortunately these revelations fell on a theological =
establishment
with no ears to hear.

=20

Undaunted by their wisdom being relegated to neglected footnotes at the
bottom of windy theological dissertations, these pioneers produced =
copious
translations and marvelous insights. Through their labors, cuneiform
inscriptions compiled from decades of archaeological exploration have =
added
significantly to our understanding of the historical underpinnings of
Genesis. Only by discarding a few time-honored misinterpretations, =
however,
can it be proclaimed at last that Genesis 2-11 does appear to have =
genuine
historical integrity and that the persons, places and events look to be
real.
