It is quite possible that such a person could be treated
very abusively for quite some time, but that doesn't always
have to be the case.

One should expect that when he/she has ideas that are
different, he/she will get shot at from all directions.
However, ideas that are right don't fall down when they
are brutalized, they get stronger. Some people are intellectually
honest enough to listen and will eventually hear if it is the truth.
So the person who had the idea may get mobbed or even lynched,
but all who engage in such activities are eventually put to shame;
most certainly on the Judgment Day.

YEC really falls off there. If they had something, I'm sure a real
scientist would have listened to them by now. Likewise, ID is not
anything of the "wedge" that some people have made so much noise
proclaiming.

You ought to at least consider that there are a number of people here
on this list who sincerely believed the YEC views until they began to
question some things. Even then, they had difficulty coping with the
thought that the people they respected were wrong. Such a bitter lesson
must be hard medicine to take. It may not be all bad; at least it teaches us
how much we need God to give us the eyes to see and the ears to hear.
I think we can also begin to appreciate when wisdom is actually heard:
it is like the one lost sheep. You only know that if you've suffered.

by Grace we proceed,
