Precisely. Which is why I objected and she did add it to some degree. In all fairness to her, this book is not an attempt to prove evolution or to argue why it should be taken seriously. The intent was to explore the dynamics of interaction between a Christian and an evolutionary scientist. It assumes that the fossil record and the age of the earth and all the arguments for evolution are all taken for granted and appear only to the extent to which it helps to obtain a reconciliation.

How can you leave out the age of the earth and the fossil record in a book on evolution?! As Michael Roberts has pointed out more than once, evidence associated with those two topics provides by far the most compelling and easily understandable arguments for evolution. In fact, without them the other arguments fade to insignificance. Robert Schneider's note piqued my interest, but your comment here unpiqued it.
