The self sacrifice is the same in the east and the west, in Islam, Judaism
and Christianity. it is even in the Vedic hymns. The self sacrifice is a human
universal.

There is nothing specifically "Islamic" in a submission to God, and trying to
make that stick exploits the present plight and media demonization of Islam
and ignores the prevalance of the self sacrifice in the world's major religious
texts.

The theology of the self sacrifice is the same in all the formal religions.
