The issue in the title is about the bioresearch
center being killed. Nothing is clearly explained
about the purpose of the center nor why it was
deemed unworthy of funding.

Huang has nothing to do with Houston, so why mention him?
That people have found ways to work around the problems of
the so called Bush stem cell line already tells me that there
really are problems with it (with the flashy "published in Nature",
the very same journal you disparage as a bastion for environmental
fruit cakes). Funny how we seize on what is convenient. Added to
that was more hype about killing human embryos.

Whether Houston would have done better, we really don't know
now do we?
